CROTON QUESTION help?
I have had a Croton for almost twenty years now and I don't water it until it dires out a bit. I've had the leaves droop and I've had the plant lose some leaves but I've never had the leaves get mushy.
It might be suffering a mild shock from being moved.
Let it rest for a couple of days. I have found that mine doesn't like drafts. Check and see if where you moved it to is drafty.
Reply:your plant is suffering from shock let it get used to the indoor change and then take it from there make sure you water as necessary in order for it to adjust to the inside change try putting it in a sunny location remember the plant is used to an out doors area whereas you bring it inside the conditions are alot different
Reply:I've grown a couple in pots, this year, from 2-inch pots, to 12-inch pots now. Always indoors, because this is Arizona. We've just about finished with 90F in the day. Now we're at risk from frost in a few weeks.
Mine gets quite a bit of sunlight, being under a South-facing window. I had a problem a while back, when I didn't open the blinds for a week %26amp; the leaves went yellow %26amp; drooped.
If the leaves are getting mushy - are they being OVER-watered ? I do water most days. But not very much.
SO - check off:
1. light.
2. water.
3. food.
4. dry air.
5. Humidity.
Good luck - they're great plants, even if they are a bit fussy.
